Patola weaving is a traditional craft from the region around Patan in Gujarat, India. It uses a double ikat technique: both warp and weft threads are tied and dyed before weaving begins.

Because of the meticulous resist-dyeing and alignment involved, it’s considered a high-end hand‐woven art textile.

Typical characteristics: bright colours, sharply defined motifs (birds, flowers, geometric), basically no “wrong side” because the design shows equally on both
