Yesterday, I received a call that stayed with me long after it ended.
A man reached out with a heartfelt request — he wanted to take a cast of his mother-in-law’s hands as a last memory for his wife, who had just lost her mother. Not for display, not for art, but for love… so his wife could hold on to a part of her forever.
I have worked with people across many occasions and emotions, but this felt different. It was raw, tender, and deeply human.
I couldn’t make it in time. There were only a few hours before the last rites, and I was 1.5 hours away. That helplessness sat heavy in my heart.
Yet alongside the sadness, I felt something else — immense respect for him. In the middle of grief, he thought of preserving a memory… of giving his wife something she could hold, touch, and feel close to when the world suddenly felt empty.
Love shows itself in the quietest, most unexpected ways.
I truly hope he found his own way to create that memory for her. Because sometimes, it’s not about the form it takes — it’s about the intention, the love, and the thought behind it.
Moments like these remind me why Blissle exists.
Not just to create casts… but to hold stories, emotions, and the bonds that live on even after someone is gone. 🤍
