Project Utthan started off as a skill building idea where we aimed to be able to organise classes and courses that would give people the chance to build up their skills and start a new career path; preferably giving opportunities to people who couldn't afford it. After running stitching, hand embroidery and beauty courses for 7 consecutive terms, we wanted to expand our reach to the younger minds.
With summer vacation ongoing, we decided to host a dance class for young kids - anywhere from 4 years old to 17 year olds - where they not only learned expression with dance, but built up the confidence to perform in front of a group of 50-60 people.
In collaboration with we had an opportunity to host this particular class at Niranjanpur centre, Indore for a month. 50 kids completed the one month of class - with dance moves that could easily steal the show at professional levels too.
Upon completion, as a token of appreciation, certificates were given to the kids along with a small gift from our side. As we completed this class on Monday, there were tearful goodbyes but an abundance of energy never felt before. The kids were already asking us to continue this segment next year too - and pushed us to take it bigger.
Here's to our motto: Manushyanam Abhyudayam Asmakam Dhyey - the upliftment of mankind is our ultimate goal
