Today, at the Bharat Pavilion in Cannes, I stood as an Indian designer, as the founder of Ashna Vaswani, and as a woman carrying India’s heritage onto a global stage.✨

Wearing Khadi. Speaking about Khadi. Dreaming beyond borders for Khadi.

I want to see Khadi walk the streets of Paris, Rome, Milan and New York.
I want every global woman to wear a fabric that carries freedom, strength, craftsmanship, sustainability and the spirit of self-reliance.

What began with Gandhi Ji as a movement for independence is today becoming a global fashion revolution.

Taking Indian craftsmanship to one of the world’s most iconic stages feels surreal.

This couture look is a celebration of strength, heritage, and artistry brought to life through a handcrafted brass armor bustier, sculpted in 24-karat gold-finished brass and detailed with tiger eye stones, black amethyst, pearls, dragon elements, and elephant-inspired motifs. Every detail is individually handcrafted, turning the piece into wearable art. ✨

Paired with a flowing ombre-dyed Chanderi silk skirt in shades of black, ivory, and earthy brown, the silhouette balances power with softness, inspired by the beauty of the wild.
