🌿 Jahota (a small town near Jaipur) is also known for its block printing tradition, though it’s less talked about compared to Sanganer or Bagru.
✨ About Jahota Block Printing
Uses handmade wooden blocks with floral and geometrical motifs.
Traditionally printed on thick cotton fabrics for turbans, ghagras, odhnis, and quilts.
The palette often includes red, indigo blue, black, and yellow (vegetable dyes).
Motifs are inspired by folk life and Mughal influences.
Jahota prints are considered rustic, bold, and deeply connected to Rajasthani village culture.(Gulabbi Naggri,Jahota Print,Block Print,Hand Block Print)

In the arid lands of western Rajasthan, Barmer stands out not just for its desert beauty, but for its folk-inspired block prints. This is storytelling through symbols — bold, raw, and deeply tribal.

Barmer block printing is known for its hand-carved motifs of birds, animals, sun, and stars, often set against deep maroons, indigos, and mud browns. The colors are natural, the designs are simple, but the emotion is powerful.

🪶 Signature Traits of Barmer Prints:
🔸 Folk motifs drawn from everyday desert life
🔸 Simple outlines filled with natural dye splashes
🔸 Used on home textiles, turbans, angarkhas, and now, contemporary wear
🔸 Often paired with hand embroidery or mirror work

🌵 Barmer prints carry the resilience of desert life and the rhythm of traditional Rajasthani music — strong, soulful, and rooted.

Today, we bow down with gratitude to the Gurus who light our path —
be they teachers, mothers, weavers, or the silent hands behind ancient crafts.

In every thread, block print, and earthy hue we celebrate,
lies the wisdom passed down through generations —
the Guru Tattva of our culture.

May we continue to learn, unlearn, and create with reverence.

Happy Guru Purnima ✨

“Balotra: Where Color Meets Courage”

Located in western Rajasthan, Balotra is known for its vibrant vegetable dye printing and striking patterns. Here, prints aren’t just beautiful — they’re bold, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in community identity.

Unlike the delicate florals of Sanganer, Balotra celebrates strong geometries, contrasting colors, and layered dyeing techniques. It’s the art of making a statement, using ancient methods like resist printing, natural mordants, and sun-dried magic.

🧿 What defines Balotra block printing?
🔸 Rich reds, blacks, ochres, and deep blues
🔸 Floral grids, paisleys, and bold stripes
🔸 Often done on thicker cottons and fabrics used in rural attire
🔸 Natural dyes with high colorfastness

🌞 Sun-soaked courtyards. Rows of drying fabrics. Hands stained with dye. That’s everyday life in Balotra — where the block speaks louder.
