*The Footwear Accessories Traders Association (FATA) of Kerala* has conducted a General Body meeting today and passed a resolution regarding BIS compliance.

The resolution states that FATA is opposed to the mandatory BIS registration for micro and small footwear units.

FATA believes that this requirement will place an unnecessary burden on small businesses and make it difficult for them to compete in the market.

The resolution also calls for a reduction in the specifications in BIS norms for footwear. We believes that the current standards are not practical and hence make it difficult for footwear Industry

*FATA is offering its full support to the MSME Footwear Sector Action Council in its protests and activities against the mandatory BIS registration for micro and small units and the unscientific quality standards fixed for various footwears.*🟥🟥
