The “Residency” in Lucknow, the 160 acre bastion, that was held by a small number of English, Loyal Indian troops and Anglo/English against a huge army of mutiners/freedom fighter depend on your point of view. Eventually relieved by an army of the raj. Heroics on both sides of this sad tale. And the end of the east india company.
A beautifully kept grounds, a refuge in the dreadfully congested and over crowded Lucknow. Traffic worse than any place i have been. Air pollution off the charts.

Working near Lucknow and was forced due to a detour through a tiny Muslim hamlet and there must have been 100 stalls selling Laban. First time any of us had seen it sold like this.

Our colony celebrated the birthday of our canine empress last night. Bella, a dog who rose from being a street dog to living in palacial splendor and is now the much loved protector of our homes. The attendees all painted or drew a portrait of Bella. Martini’s flowed like water. A splendid gala it was indeed! ❤️
