Dragonfly Design studio is established by twin sisters Ravina and Srijana Baruah in their hometown Jorhat Assam.It deals in high fashion designer wear for women. Dragonflies usually appear on the horizon after the environment has been cleaned by a heavy shower .Thus, 'Dragonfly' celebrates nature at its' purest form, when the air is pure, colours more vibrant and the lines more clear and the whole

ambiance is filled with the sweet and mushy scent emerging from the freshly washed warm earth. As such the creations under the label are free from any influence symbolized by ‘Dragonfly’ which strives in a pollution free environment and is a hallmark of purity and freshness. The label Dragonfly was created by twin sisters Ravina and Srijana Baruah in their beautiful hometown Jorhat in the lustrous valley of Assam. Both the designers are trained in fashion and have won many creative awards at state and national level from their childhood. The first collection (s/s 2010) titled ‘Jungle Canopy’ was showcased at the Art Gallery of Jorhat Fine Arts Society which was designed seeking inspiration from the rich flora and fauna of the North East followed by another fashion show in Gymkhana Club in 2011.The collection was well received and appreciated by art lovers and masses alike. The year 2012 saw one of the designers making it to the winners list of the prestigious Vogue Honors Contest held by the Fashion Magazine Vogue India. The Collection for Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week Winter Festival 2012 titled ‘Bonfire’ was designed seeking inspiration from the festive essence of winters and is created using textiles and motifs from the North East. As designers, we are committed to give the rich textiles and handicrafts of the North-East a new idiom and take them to the world stage. We believe in understated style that carries an element of subtle elegance and strive to create designs which are timeless and complete. One can mix and match our creations blending them with their personal style.’ Dragonfly’ believes that true style has gravity and originality, and appeals to people of ages and groups, because ‘a thing of beauty is a joy forever’.
