This is the story of a lady who took an initiative to preserve the art and heritage associated with sarees in India. WestBengal and many other parts of India have beautiful art forms, which has been handed down to weavers through generations as traditional knowledge. The skilled craftsmen, once hailed for their magnificent works even in the court of emperors like Akbar, are today struggling to ma
ke ends meet. As post-modern era crept in, slowly these art forms started losing the market value, and the weaver’s community witnessed a major downfall. INDRANI out of her love for various art forms of India, started a boutique in 2001 that promotes these beautiful works of art on sarees, amalgamating the diverse cultures of India under one umbrella thus boosting the dying art form and creating opportunities for various weavers of Bengal to thrive on their art . Indrani has also empowered many women by providing employment to women in her own boutique. India is a country with innumerous art forms and cultures, each having its own history and traditions. Indrani boutique seeks to preserve the dying art forms and the artists.
