The design on a Taant saree is not printed on top.

It is not embroidered on later.

It is built directly into the fabric — thread by thread — while it is being woven. That is why you can see the exact same motif on both sides of a genuine Taant saree.

A machine cannot replicate this. A printed copy will never pass this test.

EP 4 of the Know About Taant series is live.

You walked into a shop and asked for a Taant saree.

But which one?

Because Shantipuri, Tangail, Dhaniakhali, and Begampuri are four completely different sarees. Different weight. Different feel. Different price. Different purpose.

Shantipur — the finest and lightest, made for summer.
Tangail — bolder aanchal, more visual presence.
Dhaniakhali — heaviest, most durable, built for daily use.
Begampur — most accessible, best first Taant to own.

Same craft. Four different personalities. EP 3 is live. Link in bio.

The Mughal Emperor did not reject this fabric because it was bad.

He rejected it because it was too transparent. Too fine. Too well made for a royal court to handle.

That was Bengal's cotton weaving in the 17th century. And the written records of this craft go back even further — to the 8th century CE.

Your grandmother wore a thousand years of craft every single summer. She just called it her saree.

Full story in bio. EP 2 is live.

They used to say Kanjeevaram was too heavy for global couture. They were completely wrong. 🤯

Take a look at this image—this is the real "Global Shift." In Episode 6, we're breaking down how modern textile innovators took the ancient, labor-intensive Korvai weave and made it practically weightless for the international runway. And the best part? They did it while keeping the master weaver and the pure gold zari right at the center of the craft.

This isn't just a beautiful drape. It is the original, ultimate slow fashion masterpiece. 🧵✨

Stop settling for machine-made copies and come geek out over the real engineering behind our heritage. Watch the full episode now! 👇
