A lightweight two-layer Nakshi Kantha, entirely hand-stitched by women artisans through generations of inherited craft. Inspired by the timeless story of Rupai & Saju, Nakshi Kantha turns everyday memories, emotions, flowers, and village life into stitched narratives.

More than a textile, it is a quiet story of love, patience, and tradition woven by hand.

A three-layer handcrafted bedspread crafted from handloom fabrics, embodying a natural texture and subtle depth. Intricately detailed with traditional Kantha running stitch in five vibrant threads, it is fully reversible, designed to be appreciated from every side. At Aankona, women's craftsmanship not only shapes each piece but also empowers them as artisans working from home, transforming their skills into a sustainable livelihood that tells a story of heritage, resilience, and a future in their own hands.

Aankona Handwoven Three-Layer Quilt

This quilt is not just a textile—it is a story woven in resilience, patience, and quiet strength.

Crafted with three layers of entirely handwoven fabric, the top layer is a delicate Jamdani, carrying forward one of Bengal’s most intricate weaving traditions. Every thread is placed with intention, preserving a heritage that speaks through subtle motifs and timeless elegance.

Behind this piece is a homemaker who, after completing her daily responsibilities, sits down to weave—thread by thread, late into the night. As a widow, this craft is not just her art; it is her only source of income, her dignity, and her way of caring for her child.

She does not seek recognition or to come into the spotlight. For her, this is not about visibility—it is about passion for her craft and love for her child.

Each stitch carries her perseverance. Each layer holds warmth—not just of fabric, but of life itself.

When you wrap yourself in this quilt, you are not just embracing comfort—you are holding a story of courage, quiet devotion, and enduring love.

Aankona — where every thread has a soul.

A quiet expression of luxury, woven in layers of heritage.

This 3-layer Kantha brings together a handwoven fish Jamdani top, resting on soft handspun, handwoven fabrics beneath. Each stitch is placed slowly by women who, after a full day of caring for their homes, return to their craft — not just for livelihood, but for love, for pride, for tradition.

When you wrap yourself in it, the warmth feels more than comfort — it feels like care, like love, like a quiet blessing passed from their hands to yours.

Sustainable. Handcrafted. Timeless.

Made in the quiet hours after the day’s work is done, this piece carries the strength and care of the women who create it. After finishing their household work, they sit together and slowly stitch each thread with patience and love.

This is a three-layered quilt, made from handwoven fabrics. The first layer is handwoven Jamdani — a beautiful mix of tradition and modern feel. Over it, the simple running stitches, learned from mothers and grandmothers, bring the fabric to life.

For these women, this is not just work. It is their passion, and also a way to support their families with dignity.

Soft, timeless, and sustainable — this quilt holds stories of hard work, care, and a legacy that continues from one generation to another.
