She crosses the river by नौका. Temple lamps are lit for her passage.

She crosses the river by boat. She passes palaces, pavilions, groves where deer watch her go. The lamps are lit not for the temple but for her passing.

Jayadeva sang of राधा's abhisar in the Gita Govinda; four hundred years of Rajput painters have painted her crossing in the dark. She is the अभिसारिका.

Every obstacle on that road is on this lehenga — plotted panel by panel, embroidered by hand across the kalis.

100% hand embroidery. The karigar who opens a panel at the karchobi frame is usually the one who closes it, seasons later. We do not shorten this. The time is not a cost the story carries — it is part of what the story is.

She does not wear a lehenga. She wears a story.

Not a woman waiting. A woman going. That distinction is the whole chapter.

Chapter One was a city. This one is a road.
