2014 Shilong Fashion Week. Presently Working on her new Design which is yet to come. Chandrani’s muse is a woman
who is comfortable in straddling the two different worlds of high fashion and street chic. Believing in timeless design, she creates clothes which have an easy appeal, which can hold vintage value in future. Chandrani works closely and extensively with artisans and master craftsmen and has a keen eye for detailed, quality embroideries, derived from traditional crafts, but are contemporary personal interpretations, rather than being replications. Equal importance is paid to both shape and texture, as she aims to have a ‘complete design’ approach. Chandrani’s work has been featured in the editorial spreads of leading Indian magazines and publications. She currently retails from Collage (Bangalore), Cypress (Mumbai), Aurelia (Pune),Prana(kolkata) and Aura (Nagpur). Whether through drape or construction, I tweak classic shapes and create pieces which do not have to have an expiry date. My philosophy stems from my personal dressing, where I like to be appropriate for the occasion, but even the most glamorous pieces have to be comfortable enough for me, therefore also for the woman who I dress. My clothes have slight drama, but restrained. They are for the woman to wear, not for them to dominate over the wearer. QUOTE
