*Falling oil, equities drag down ICE cotton futures*
ICE cotton futures slipped more than 1 percent on Tuesday, to register their biggest one-day drop in about a month, as a decline in oil prices and a sell-off in equities affected market sentiment.
The most active cotton contract on ICE Futures U.S., the front month December contract, settled down 1.03 cent, or 1.29 percent, at 78.99 cents per lb, its biggest one-day percentage loss since Sept. 28.
It traded within a range of 78.18 cents and 80.00 cents a lb.
"When oil and the stock markets are down, it may signal economic weakness," said Peter Egli, director of risk management at British merchant Plexus Cotton.
"I think cotton in itself is bullish going into the December notice period, but we have to watch the outside market."

Falling oil prices make synthetic fibers, which use petroleum, cheaper, potentially denting demand for the natural fiber crop.
In the previous session, the contract jumped nearly 3 percent, and marked its biggest one-day percentage gain in more than three months.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) weekly crop progress report on Monday showed 34 percent of the cotton crop was in good to excellent condition versus 35 percent a week ago....
The report also showed that the U.S. cotton harvest was 39 percent complete, up from 32 percent in the previous week.
Total futures market volume fell by 3,588 to 35,617 lots. Data showed total open interest gained 2,172 to 264,103 contracts in the previous session.
