To Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda,
Here I am, a 27 year old woman, writing a letter to my favourite characters - four beautiful, smart and inspiring women who were a huge part of my childhood and womanhood.
I couldn’t help but wonder, what did each one of them teach me?
Carrie taught me how to be hopeful and optimistic in love, career and fashion.
And that buying vogue instead of dinner could be better for your appetite.
My most favourite thing about Carrie was when she married Mr. Big in a vintage suit at city hall and the fact that she celebrated with her 3 best friends after.
Charlotte taught me what it means to make mistakes, learn from them, move on and grow into this smart, hopeless romantic who will find her happily ever after. One day.
Samantha. Oh Samantha! What would I do without you?
You taught me all about being a strong, free and unapologetically independent woman who can do anything in the world for her three best friends and fight this world full of men and dominate as a businesswoman.
Miranda taught me the significance of living alone and having your own place, never feeling guilty of being successful and making the right choice even if it’s the tough one.
And just like that… we say goodbye.
S*x and the city was an important chapter in my life. It was the most beautiful part of womanhood and coming into my own.
