Recently witnessed a miraculous escape from what could have been a major accident and injury to all those involved. I was in my car. In front of me was an auto and a food delivery chap in front of him wearing an orange uniform (I'm guessing Swiggy, Instamart or Zomato), without a helmet. To his left was a hand cart chap. This delivery guy must have been in his haste to deliver or in his own zone. He may have gone over the hand cart in his haste, he swerved to the right, his scootie skidded and he fell off , flung to the right. The auto driver swerved in the nick of time to his far right and just about missed running over the delivery chap's body and/or his bike, with few inches between the auto and the divider. This was on a busy day on Linking road, Khar West.
Had the auto chap not stayed alert, his auto could have done a flip and the biker or the occupants of the auto could have been fatally injured. Luckily we screeched to a halt in time to avoid colliding with the vehicles in front of us and thus averted a major mishap.
I don't understand why there is no authority keeping a strong vigil on these delivery guys. They don't wear helmets, they speed like the Devil is after them.
What's the rush of getting food delivered in record time, for both the vendor and the recipient???
Patience on both their parts could help avert many such accidents in future.
