Mesmerizing performance by Ms. Suryagayatri & Her Group at the Royal Opera House, Mumbai, as she brought Shri Ram's story to life! 🌟 The concert, organised by Swami Dayanand Saraswati Devotees, aimed to support rural education initiatives. Kudos to the team for bringing together art and social impact!
Thank you very much, Shachi Sanghvi, for this amazing experience. 💐❤️🤗

It was a pleasure to attend the National Tantvi committee meeting & meeting many of my friends on September 19, 2025. As I was discussing with you Sharvari Khatavkar, i am wearing a Chettinad saree in Silk that was revived by Mrs. Pupul Jayakar. The original commissioned color was chandan created for Mrs. Indira Gandhi.
I am wearing it in a red hue, which is one of the most traditional colors. What you were wearing was the original cotton saree. I've paired it with an orange shawl made in Kutch and a green blouse that picks up the intricate lines in the border. What I love about this saree is the attention to detail in the warp-faced border and the tiny lines added in the warp by the skilled karigars.

Mrs. Pupul Jayakar was indeed a cultural catalyst who played a significant role in reviving traditional Indian arts and crafts, including handlooms. She's known for establishing the Weavers' Service Centre allover India and promoting Indian textiles globally. Her work with the Nehru-Gandhi family and J. Krishnamurti also highlights her influence on India's cultural landscape.

Attending the Tantvi committee meeting for Handloom Textiles was a delight. Serving on the National level committee is an honor. Although the Development Commissioner Handlooms couldn't attend, the Additional Development Commissioner skillfully chaired the meeting.

Highlights:

- Meaningful interactions with the committee members
- Reconnecting with old friends from the Handloom industry
- Collaborative discussions on designing and reviving Handloom Textiles

Thankful for:

- Opportunities to contribute to Handloom preservation
- Inspiring conversations with fellow committee members
- Continued growth and learning in the textile sector.

"Grateful for the Tantvi committee meeting! Honored to serve alongside dedicated industry members, reviving India's rich Handloom heritage. Inspiring discussions and reunions with old friends made it unforgettable.

The Handloom technology practitioners perpetuates our indian heritage. We have such rich variety of rare weaves & skills which makes India a world leader both in quality & quantity. I reviving Antique Handloom Weaving technologies. No where in the world our unique heritage can be compared. I believe its our world heritage. & it needs to be preserved.
Eco-friendlyness, slow fashion sustainable, highest employed skilled practitioners, livelihood, each individual & their culture expressing itself via its traditional weave etc are part of this heritage. I personally love Handloom feel. The product carries energy of true karigar who has put his Heart & Soul. In the age of AI taking over, Handloom Handicrafts & Khadi remains still with opportunities to express ourselves as indian culture.
Hence I believe we need to celebrate not just Handloom day, but Handloom life.
