- incorporate Indian traditional fabrics and handicrafts to the unspecial-day outfits of progressive Indian womxn and create one-and-only Indian Street Style.


- strongly support Indian womxn to express themselves freely and design their own life. Clothes is one of the contents we make to achieve these. Yoshiko Inoue is the designer cm pattern maker cm producer of MIRCHI KOMACHI. She’s from Osaka, Japan. Now she’s settled in Bombay, India, with “her guy” who helps MIRCHI KOMACHI immensely. Also a proud stray cat Ghumi visits her every day and supervises her work.

We’ve wrapped up our two-weekend Lil Flea rollercoaster journey🎢⁡

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who came to our little red stall, and to everyone who bought our clothes🙏💝⁡
⁡
So many wonderful things happened again this time! ⁡
At The Lil Flea where over 300 unique brands come together, several people showed up wearing MIRCHI KOMACHI pieces they had bought before🥹 And many asked about my health, and I finally got to meet people who had been supporting me online for a long time, and of course, there were lots of people who “discovered” MIRCHI KOMACHI for the first time and expressed how much they loved it, and and… I’m just incredibly grateful🙏🙏🙏⁡

It also really made me feel, once again, how much I’m supported by Japan and the people who have shaped it. ⁡
So many visitors shared their positive impressions of Japan or their wonderful travel experiences there, and simply being from Japan makes people treat me warmly, despite that I haven’t personally done anything to deserve that! It feels so blessed.⁡

I shared on Stories my “check blood sugar followed by Cup Noodles” routine before opening time each day (and after opening, I didn’t get time to post stuff😂), and I’m happy to say that I made it through my second event (so bloody tough physically) since being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and it’s given me confidence🌟⁡

Starting tomorrow, I’ll be back to making high-quality clothes with fun/cool vibes. I’m not the fastest in anything, but please hang in there with me🙏🙏🙏⁡

What exactly is a Furoshiki? Traditionally, it’s a square, scarf-like cloth used in Japan for centuries as a versatile wrapping tool. ⁡

At MIRCHI KOMACHI, we’ve traded disposable paper or non-woven bags for these cotton Furoshiki. We tie them into a cute bag to carry your MIRCHI KOMACHI pieces home! ⁡
⁡
Note: Our "Shopping Bag Furoshiki" is not intended for long-term use as a Furoshiki. It’s made from thin cotton, and the hand-stamped logo may smudge if washed.⁡
But the fabric can be reused for cleaning, organizing, or other household purposes. ♻️⁡

Although Vidya-san is known for her love of sarees, at this Author School Visit she chose a different look: this cool yet playful camel-print blazer jacket by MIRCHI KOMACHI 🐪 paired with jeans. ⁡
Since publishing her new middle grade novel, “A Patch of Sun, A Patch of Shade,” she has been visiting schools and meeting young readers. ⁡

When I was a child, we didn’t have the luxury of inviting a book author to school to talk with us. Events like these where children are introduced to books, to immerse themselves in stories and develop imagination and empathy, feel meaningful and heartwarming📖⁡

It seems that this book beautifully portrays the friendship between two girls and the society that surrounds them. It was even nominated for the Scholastic Asian Book Award and became a finalist.⁡
And I JUST realised that when she was invited to the ceremony in Singapore, she also styled this very jacket with a saree (I’ve shown off the beautiful picture on our page)!! I’m thrilled and deeply moved🥹⁡
