12th August… 💔

One year ago today, I lost my father.

He went to the hospital that evening… and somehow, never came back home.

I still remember that evening. I remember the anxiety, the fear, the feeling that something was terribly wrong.
And sometimes I wonder… was I anxious because I was losing my father, or because somewhere deep inside, a part of me already knew that after that night, life would never feel the same again?

A year has passed.
I’ve grown older. I’ve celebrated milestones in 2025 worked harder, kept going… but there is still a part of me that feels incomplete.

My father had only one wish ... to see me make my first Hindi film.
He believed in this dream before I even knew how to make it happen.
And life took him away before he could see it.

Today, as I fly to Melbourne for the World Premiere of my first Hindi film, my heart is filled with emotions I can’t quite put into words.
I’m excited. I’m grateful. 🙏

But more than anything… I wish my father was here.
I wish he could sit beside me and know that the dream he believed in actually came true. 💔

I made this film for my mother .... the person who has held me together through everything, who stood beside me when things were difficult, and who never stopped giving me the strength to keep going. ❤️

But in every frame, every word, every struggle, every sleepless night and every little victory… there was also my father

This film is for my mother. ❤️
But this moment… is for my father🙏

His dream.
My journey.
Our film.
💔

I wish you were here, Dad.
I miss you more than I will ever be able to say. 💔

A story I have carried in my heart for a long time .. one that I have always hoped would find its way to the world.

Today, with immense gratitude and a heart full of emotions, I’m overwhelmed to share that our film PAL BHAR KE LIYE will have its world premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne this August.

Every story has its own destiny, and I truly believe this one found the right moment and the right place to begin its journey.

This is a film that came from a place of love, passion, and a deep desire to tell a story that deserved to be felt and experienced by a wider audience.

I am deeply grateful to the festival for believing in our film and choosing it amongst the many wonderful works they had to consider.
This recognition means more than words can express.

Behind every film is a dream, countless moments of hope, hard work, and the unwavering belief of an entire team.

My second film as a director !!

This was never just a film.
It was a piece of my heart.
A story born from my own life...

2019 will always be the most unforgettable year for me.
It was the year I watched my dream come alive on the big screen, and the same year I lost the person I had made this film for..
My mom🙏

Every frame of Smile Please carries a part of her, a part of me, and a part of a journey that changed me forever💔

This film gave me joy, heartbreak, hope, and healing.
It taught me that even in the deepest pain, life somehow finds a way to smile again !!!

I will always be grateful to my incredible cast, my amazing crew, and my producers for believing in my vision and letting me tell this story exactly the way I wanted to🙏

And to the audiences…
THANK YOU 🙏
Seven years later, the love for this film continues🙌🙌

Knowing that it still touches hearts is the greatest gift I could ever receive.🙏

And today marks the end of making this film !!!

This film and its process became a journey of healing, of remembering, of learning, and of discovering parts of myself I never knew existed.

Today, I locked the FINAL cut, and with that, an incredible chapter of my life came to an end.
It feels surreal. 🙏

This film has been more than just a project .... It has been a dream, a responsibility, and a piece of my heart.

To every member of the cast and crew ... thank you. 🙏
You brought your talent, your faith, and your love to this film every single day.
You made the long hours, the challenges, and the moments of doubt worthwhile.

I will miss the laughter on set, the quiet moments between takes, the endless editing sessions, the dubbing, the days in post production, and the feeling of watching this story slowly come to life.

This film was a tribute to my mother and it carries her blessings in every frame ❤️
I only hope I’ve done justice to the love, strength, and memories that inspired it.🙏

As we now step into the next phase of taking this film out into the world, I carry with me immense gratitude and countless memories that I will treasure forever🙌
