The ‘Navagraha’ celebrated our journey of creative belonging, emotions, nostalgia and identity - marrying it with art as a medium of expression.

Featuring ‘Surya’ the central king of all planetary bodies and dictator of life is reimagined through ‘Durga’ - the goddess whose initial glimpses captured Saim’s subconscious since his very early days, further integrating his explorations into layers, multiple elements and fantastical maximalism.

Saim’s childhood traces back to the echos of the Azaan and the sweet sounds of the ‘dhaak’ - a true celebration of multicultural India and humanity.

We reimagine the ‘Durga’ today as a multi tasking modern day human playing various roles and responsibilities - emitting power and resilience in every stage of modern day life. A red flaming structure, a food thaali with ‘Surya’s’ favourite ingredients and a little taste of Calcutta in the clay potted mishti doi - Saim transports you to his primary design inspiration and his personal celebratory self.

Catalogue 004 / ornament patchwork jacket; drape tassel trouser.

Crafted in a silk chanderi with outline patchwork and embroidered details following the shapes of Indian sculptural bodices and traditional ornamentations of necklaces, drapes and armbands; hand made cord and tassel fringes.

Each ensemble is thoroughly crafted, spending over 70 working man hours at the atelier through Karigars, masters, seamstresses, finding and quality teams.

From the very day I decided to build my brand, you have been standing with me figuring out every little step, together we evoke an emotion to build a world that will speak of love, acceptance and emotion - that’s my dad!

I’ve always wondered since my early sketching days, how I could rewind and transport Saim into the past and celebrate time, roots and culture. Saim is meant to last forever, stay with you through changing times and remind you that clothing isn’t merely a team of designers or production people - but history, evolution and a large number of hands that shape the thoughts of today.

Here Saim reimagines his own clothing on his father from his early pre and post marriage days, with the help of artificial intelligence.
