Inspired by the shapes of ancient Indian sculptures, jewellery and drapes - the dress is handcrafted in a chanderi with silk accents. The look is a modern day rendition of a sculpture of today, if history were to rewrite itself in the coming years.

Catalogue 002 / sculptural patchwork dress.

Crafted in a silk chanderi, rib and jersey accents, surface embroidery and outlines representing traditional Indian temple figures and ornamentations like armbands, bangles, necklaces and the dhoti drape reimagined in the modern day times of today.

Each ensemble is thoughtfully crafted, with hand made tassel and cord fringes, each stitched with a singular finished thread, over 70 man hours spent in the atelier.

We opened the doors to the debut evening as a house, presenting the ‘Nava Graha’ - charted by nine forces, each resonating a foundation pillar of the Saim world - reinterpreting every celestial force into the world of today.

Saim has always reckoned with the multicultural powers of imagination and mythology, and painting new forms of belief and worship for the times of today - taking from his early childhood, hometown nostalgia and personal cultural impressions. Each ‘Graha’ / celestial body translates into crucial phases of his creative journey written in the mind and time frames of the specific influencing memory.

A celebration of emotion, fragrance, taste, visual and sound - each sense altered to the new Saim world /

Look 01 - sculptural scallop kurta, godet flared trouser, jersey draped sling bag.

Inspired by shapes of ancient bodices, traditional drapes, ornamentations, and the dhoti drape - the kurta is handcrafted in a chanderi with satin accents. The trouser is a recreation of a traditional sharara with central godets constructed in a chanderi.

Crafted in a silk chanderi, rib and jersey accents, surface embroidery and outlines representing traditional Indian ornamentations, hand made cords and tassel fringes.

Each ensemble involves approximately 70 man hours journeying through craft karigars, masters, seamstresses, finishing and quality teams.
