It is a responsibility to take up a banner!
We are excited to share our experience working with Post Carbon Lab to unlock the mysteries of colours from algae.
It has been a humbling experience to understand the amazing ways nature works around us.

We are now in the second phase of the project, promoted by the Fashion, Textiles and Technology Institute (FTTI) at UAL and the British Council, to take this innovation towards the possibility of bulk dyeing using algae and natural resources working together.

We’re also in the process of setting up a small sampling unit in London, so we can continue the experiments and sampling in the time to come.

We are very positive about the results the future holds.

A vibrant exchange of tradition and innovation – right in the heart of London! 🇬🇧🌿

We recently had the pleasure of conducting a hands-on workshop, featuring painting, block printing, and dyeing – all utilizing natural dyes. This was a collaborative effort by the teams of , and .

What made this experience truly special was the presence of renowned designers and industry leaders who not only shared their insightful perspectives but also appreciated the depth and potential of our work. Many expressed interest in collaborating further to bring these traditional yet sustainable practices to a wider market.

One of the most exciting parts of the session was the discussion around the global potential of algae-based colors – an innovation rooted in nature and aligned with the future of conscious design.

We're grateful for the energy, curiosity, and support this community brought to the space. Looking forward to more such exchanges that bridge craft, sustainability, and scalable impact.

It was an incredible experience connecting with so many passionate voices in sustainable fashion. Meeting so many forward-thinking brands and material innovators truly reinforced the growing global interest in natural dyeing. It was energizing to see natural colours take centre stage, and we left more assured than ever about the role of plant-based colour in the future of sustainable textiles.

Oil Mordanting: An Ancient Secret Revived

Did you know that oil mordanting—an age-old technique—is one of the most underrated steps in natural dyeing?

Traditionally practiced with natural oils such as castor oil, coconut oil, neem oil etc., this method enhances the bond between dyes (especially madder) and fabric by forming a strong complex with alum. The result? Richer, deeper hues with significantly improved light and wash fastness.

After two years of focused research and experimentation, we’ve developed an effective oil mordanting formulation that works beautifully with a wide range of natural fibers.

We hope this brings a fresh perspective to the world of natural dyes and inspires more innovation rooted in traditional wisdom.
