Introducing the label – ‘MAYURA KUMAR’. They have been in the business of Fashion for over three decades, passionately creating a line in women’s wear that is synonymous with color and craft. Designer Mayura Kumar is an alumnus from India's premier Design Schools - The National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad and The National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi. Her label started over three
decades ago in Washington DC where it ran successfully before it was homeward bound to India. While in the USA, she had the privilege of showing through high end Trunk Shows at Saks, Nordstrom’s, and Bloomingdales and also through Fashion Shows and many eclectic stores. Sackler Gallery at The Smithsonian Museum, did a special collection preview on Mayura Kumar’s designs. It detailed the fine craft of Indian textiles and the new age fusion wear then appearing powerfully though the fashion corridors world over. In Delhi, Mayura Kumar runs the “Mayura Kumar Design Studio” which stocks for India’s top end Fashion Houses like Ogaan, Aza, Collage, Ffolio, Mélange, Mogra, Ishshka, Evoluzione Anantam and others.

She works on a myriad of craft based textiles along side a signature series on Kalamkari for the last three decades. “There has been a tremendous progression in Kalamkari with my modern fun and colorful interpretation of this craft form bringing it to a vibrant and fashionable clothing form. My focus in design is on classic outfits for the trendy women who are appreciative of comfort finish and craft. India is already showing a huge shift to celebrating craft in the Fashion business of tomorrow.
