I am Ram Mukkavilli who recently returned to India after a long stay in the USA. ABCLearn (AnyBabyCanLearn) was borne out of interaction with my children (who were 5 & 7 when I came back) and their friends.
Having spent time in USA, I was familiar with the learning systems and Montessori methods adopted there. In comparing and contrasting the reading patterns, I noticed a visible “fear of reading” among children when exposed to new reading material. My team and I expanded this experiment to include young kids at a local library and noticed a similar pattern. Most children were able to repeat the lines from text books but very hesitant to explore new material.
Using this backdrop, we launched AIMXCEL INNOVATIVE SOLUTONS and built an experimental set of flashcards and an AUGMENTED REALITY (AR) enabled mobile application. We were able to successfully engage children in the age group of 3 to 7 using the flashcards and mobile application. We then moved to test this in playschools. The feedback from schools resulted in the development of the 10-concept series that was launched in June 2017 and is now being adopted by schools in Visakhapatnam.
