๐ง๏ธ๐ฅ Monsoon Recipe for Babies: Steamed Vegetable Mash ๐ฒ
During the monsoon season, it's important to provide healthy and safe meals for our little ones. Try this simple and nutritious Steamed Vegetable Mash, packed with goodness and perfect for your baby's taste buds!
Recipe: Steamed Vegetable Mash
Ingredients:
1 small carrot, peeled and diced
1 small potato, peeled and diced
1/2 cup cauliflower florets
1/2 cup broccoli florets
1/4 cup peas
1 cup water
Instructions:
Thoroughly wash all the vegetables.
In a steamer basket or a steaming pot with a little water, steam the carrot, potato, cauliflower, broccoli, and peas until they are soft and easily mashable. This helps retain their nutrients.
Once the vegetables are cooked, let them cool for a few minutes.
Transfer the steamed vegetables to a blender or food processor. Add a small amount of the cooking liquid (water) to achieve the desired consistency. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Allow the vegetable mash to cool completely before serving.
Serve a small portion of the vegetable mash to your baby, either using a spoon or by letting them self-feed with their hands.
Store any remaining mash in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Discard any leftovers after that.
Notes:
Ensure that the vegetables are cooked thoroughly to a soft consistency, making it easier for babies to eat and digest.
You can adjust the texture of the mash by adding more or less water during blending.
If your baby has already started solids, you can introduce herbs like mild coriander or a pinch of cumin powder to enhance the flavor.
Always check the temperature of the mash before serving to ensure it's not too hot for your baby.
Remember, it's important to consult with your pediatrician or a certified nutritionist before introducing any new foods to your baby, especially if they have any allergies or specific dietary needs.
