Fashion sourcing isn’t broken because of fabric, it’s broken because of systems.

And that’s why we started building Vastra Talk.

But let me be real getting here wasn’t easy.

When the idea first came, I pictured a polished podcast series with industry experts. But reality was different:
👉 People I reached out to were too busy or didn’t see much reason to collaborate with someone just starting out.
👉 I failed in follow-ups more times than I can count.
👉 Some days, the fog of confusion was so heavy that quitting felt easier than continuing.

There were moments I thought: “Do the things I’ve done till now even matter for my career?”
From JD Kanan struggles, to internship rejections, to projects that didn’t take
off—failure became my best teacher.

And that’s where the big lesson came in:
👉 You don’t need to start perfect. You just need to start.

So instead of waiting for the perfect lineup of guests, I’m beginning with insights, research, and real community discussions. Collaborations will follow once the traction is there.

After months of delays and learnings, I’m proud to finally say:
The first episode of Vastra Talk drops on 8th October.

Until then, I’ll be sharing daily thoughts and questions about sourcing and unorganized retail here.
Your insights won’t just stay in the comments—we’ll feature some of them in Vastra Talk itself.

Because this isn’t just my journey.
It’s a conversation we need to have as an industry.
