Whose weave is it anyway?
The controversy around Deepika Padukone's saree shows, once again, how Indian designers and brands devalue the work done by regional craftspersons and weavers. When Sabyasachi Mukherjee said Padukone was "head to toe in Sabyasachi" in the Brand's social media posts, at first he neglected to acknowledge that saree came from Angadi Galleria, an upmarket saree showroom in Bengaluru- but then, the saree didn't come from there either. It came from a Weaver's loom, and from centuries of artistry. It was an opportunity to shine the spotlight on this craft tradition, but although he mentioned the name of the gallery in the later posts, it cannot be denied that he failed to do so in the first instance.

The Call of Action!
This is us, taking a stand for what we believe in - sustainability. We choose to support and encourage labels that respect and acknowledge the hardwork that goes into every little bit of our clothes.
The blockchain technology is a viable solution for the apparel industry as it makes the entire production and distribution process incredibly transparent. Every time a product changes hands, that change in custody is recorded on the blockchain. This transparency in supply chain will encourage businesses to pursue the sustainability initiatives and change their overall perspective.
The smallest act of kindness begins with us. We shall continue to pursue this cause by promoting recycling of clothes. We are ultimately excited about the positive outcomes of this cause. Even the slightest bit of awareness goes a long way to contribute!

Let's all make wiser choices, for a happy and prosperous future! And let's begin at home.
