Firstly it depends on the season and the location in which the wedding is taking place. If it is winter then you can choose a heavier fabric (A winter in a temperate country). Alternatively if it is summer, then I’d suggest sticking to light cottons or chiffons (In a tropical city).

so check your tolerance to heat, because someone who grew up in a tropical place can tolerate more heat than someone who grew up in a temperate country.

Also at an afternoon wedding, I’d pick bright colors. I would pick something like a bright pink or orange, or a breezy yellow keeping in with the theme of the outdoot wedding. The fabrics that I choose will be light and breezy too so as to allow movement.
