The idea of having my own business started when I was very young. It only helped that my family business was in garments and textile. The urge stayed strong throughout my growing years and education and finally emerged as 'Global Ethnic' in July 2010. The whole idea was to understand requirements, identify the likes and dislikes and make sure I know the science behind the comfort of the consumers.
Through this journey, I have received a lot of love, had my own learnings and understood what a working lady - college going girl - and a home maker would want. For the last few years, I would provide my designs to wholesalers and retailers and I only heard from them that the goods were sold out. It had a sense of accomplishment but something was amiss. Since the last year however, I held exhibitions and met my customers face to face. I saw reactions, got feedback and learnt what people liked and disliked. This year I used other mediums like WhatsApp, Telegram and my website to reach out to more people. The aim was to give a small window to the consumers to spend 5 minutes for themselves, their needs and their wishes. I just wanted to make them feel beautiful - inside out, using my creativity and designs. The 'lady' of the house is always looking out for others in the family and hardly gets any time for herself. She is cooking, cleaning, studying, working and is always busy for herself. Reaching out and meeting the requirements of this group of the society is what I want to achieve through Global Ethnic.
