Matka silk: beauty in every slub

Matka silk is made from short, hand-spun fibers obtained from pierced or leftover cocoon waste.
Because the fibers are not fully reeled like in Mulberry silk, the fabric has a distinctive rough, slubby, matte texture, yet remains soft and breathable.
Often compared to raw silk, but Matka is thicker, more rustic, and has visible irregularities that add character.
