When learning to walk, it's normal for kids to walk on their toes.
When kids walk mostly on their toes instead of their heels, it's known as toe walking. Nonetheless, some young children never stop toe-walking as they grow older.
A youngster who spends a lot of time walking on their toes may experience calf shortening and tightening of the muscles and tendons, making it harder for them to plant their heels on the ground.
Toe walking is mostly caused by:
🦶🏻Habit.
🦶🏻Short calf muscles.
🦶🏻Sensitivity issues (they may prefer the feeling of being on their toes or not enjoy it when their feet are flat on the ground).
🦶🏻In a very small number of cases it may be due to a neurological cause.
