SUNGLASS CARE..
1. Keep Your Sunglasses Away From Extreme Heat and Cold
Leaving your sunglasses in your car is a bad idea. On a warm, sunny day, the heat inside your car can reach scorching temperatures. Heat and cold can damage the coating on the lens, as well as the frame.
2. Handle Your Sunglasses With Care
To avoid stretching the side arms and bending the frame, use both hands to put your sunglasses on and take them off. As cool as it make look, you shouldn't wear them on top of your head, or, on the back of your head either. Doing so can stretch them out of shape and scratch the lens.
3. Purchase and Use a Sturdy Case
Toss your sunglasses into your tote, on the kitchen table, or on the seat of your car, and they're at a high risk of getting scratched, bent, cracked or broken. The best way to protect them is to store them in a case that's hard on the outside and soft on the inside. Store your sunglasses in their case when you're not wearing them.
4. Clean Your Shades Every Day
Another way you can care for your sunglasses and make them last longer is, clean them at least once a day, and whenever the lens get dirty. This will remove dust and dirt than can scratch the lens. Follow the manufacturer's directions for cleaning them. You may need to use a special cleaning cloth and solution if your sunglasses are prescription. Otherwise, you can wash sunglasses with a bit of soap and warm water. Rinse well, then use a clean, soft cloth to dry them. To avoid scratches, never wipe the lens when they're dry. Don't use paper towels or other rough materials.
Clean the side arms and the frame periodically to remove dirt and perspiration.
5. Inspect Your Sunglasses Regularly
Check the screws on a regular basis and tighten them when they become loose. Having an eyeglass repair kit with a tiny screwdriver is a necessity. Also, check your sunglasses for wear and tear. Visit your eye doctor if adjustments are needed on your prescription sunglasses.
