all the beautiful soul out there.. we trust you all are doing healthy and happy..

this is a catechu dyed dress.. firstly we were only doing natural dyes with cotton.. but last few months were experiments.. and this beautiful piece is dyed with catechu.. and the fabric is handmade silk.. ghicha by matka..!

it was such fun to watch the silk to take colours.. and we loved the textures of ghicha silk..!

we have started working after two years. the years we spent. restless. homeless.

our idea was to make a studio of mud house or sustainable one.. we made one in a tribal village.. but sad we couldn't stay there. work there. some local political parties and few men thought.. they should irritate us to leave the place.. they started to make our place an unofficial club; we fought with peace and never told them anything.. we had to move to city for survival.. we made the studio with our savings.. so had to go back to city.

this year. this day.. again we have started working with natural dye..indian madder.

again we come back to our land and rented another place. nature.. or natural dye have always gave us blessings.. and peace.

there will be more colours. more shades. more peace. more nature.

Organic khadi threads dyed with catechu.. going for a weaving..! the threads will be a fabric in this process. this weaving technique of Bengal weaver.. can be considered as Bengal's heritage.. and being a part of this we feel happy.

Naturally dyed with myrobalan and catechu on handmade muslin Khadi!

We miss those days of summer as most of the people in India is suffering and I had to stop my work in such circumstances; but I believe that soon the dye will be back again! And this time will explore with more ingredients, hopefully.

Studio development.

We are developing our new space for upcoming workshops. Making a home cm studio with mud and broken bricks is something exciting. The entire project: of developing the studio is happening with tribals of Bengal. We always wanted to see them smiling and the fun part is our studio is based on a tribal village. So, working with tribals and live among them is quite fascinating. This is Meghna : the daughter of the head artisan. She is full of life. This is how our days of summer is going on.

We hope we will be able to finish the project. And our dream is to revive the heritage and culture of tribals in Bengal. They are best known for their mud houses and the way they maintain them, with so much colours and painting on them, sometimes relief work also.
