Garment Dyeing.

A process pioneered by Massimo Osti, Left Hand founder, in the 1970’s - Garment dyeing, left the colouring of the fabric to the end of the manufacturing process. This remains an intrinsic part of Left Hand to this day.

Garment Dyeing makes the garment much more intense in colour and enhances the fabric, giving it a more lived in feeling. Although it had been used before, in ancient civilisations and through the ages, garment dyeing really was born in Italy in the early 1970s, thanks to the intuition of Massimo Osti.

“I discovered that two different materials absorbed and reacted differently to the dye when dyed simultaneously, thereby creating interesting ‘tone-on-tone’ effects.” Massimo Osti.
