The Saragozza has arrived.
A collaboration between Left Hand and Meanforme, connecting archive, place and process. Named after the Saragozza district of Bologna — birthplace of Massimo Osti and Left Hand — its distinctive fringed upper takes inspiration from a raw-cut 1993 Micro jacket from our archive.

Anatomy of the Left Hand x Meanforme Saragozza.

Strip the shoe back and the quality becomes even clearer. Heavyweight 2.2mm Sciarada Castoro reverse calf suede from Tuscany. 5mm natural Malaysian latex crepe. Traditional Bologna construction, removing the conventional rigid insole board to create a softer, more flexible structure beneath the foot.

The first Left Hand footwear collaboration, the Saragozza is created with Meanforme and takes its name from the Bologna district synonymous with the birthplace of Massimo Osti and Left Hand.

Referencing the raw-cut fringe of a 1993 Left Hand Micro jacket, the shoe is handcrafted in Northern Portugal from heavyweight Sciarada Castoro reverse calf suede, produced in Tuscany, and finished with a 5mm natural Malaysian latex crepe sole.

For the first two seasons, all garments from Left Hand collection were produced using Micro, a fabric made from a procedure for pressing fibres, a method similar to that traditionally employed in the paper industry.

The mixture of nylon and microfibres gives the garments, composed of Micro, greater durability and little need for maintenance, also allowing them to be cut with a raw, un-hemmed, edge.

This Micro jacket from 1993, one of our archive, featured this distinctive fringe, which informed the fringe on the new Left Hand x Meanforme Saragozza
