𝗦𝗜𝗨𝗟𝗔 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘 - 𝗩𝗜𝗔 𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗠𝗔
Our athlete , alongside his partners Pietro Saggiante and Sandro Maranetto, completed a beautiful and complex opening, climbed entirely from the ground up in pure alpine style.
Over 700 meters of vertical gain, 13 pitches, difficulties up to 7b (6c+ mandatory), and AI5 ice sections.
A harsh, committing environment where it’s just you, your partners, and the deep isolation of the Cordillera Huayhuash.
The legendary Siula Grande has a new line on its aesthetic East Pillar.
They pushed through snowfall on the wall and endured a critical second bivouac, spending the night sitting on a tiny ledge.
Then came the arrival at the top of the pillar at 4:30 PM on July 11th, followed by the clear-headed decision to turn back before the main summit due to dangerous, unconsolidated fresh snow on the ridge.
A line that shows how the spirit of discovery is alive, fueled by the dreams and tenacity of a new generation that keeps looking beyond the horizon.

La cordata composta dal nostro atleta , Pietro Saggiante e Sandro Maranetto, ha firmato l'apertura di una nuova via sull'estetico Pilastro Est del Siula Grande.
Oltre 700 metri di sviluppo, 13 lunghezze, difficoltà fino al 7b (6c+ obbligatorio) e sezioni di ghiaccio AI5.
La via è stata aperta dal basso e in stile alpino, senza installare campi intermedi permanenti, lungo una linea che alterna arrampicata libera su roccia, terreno misto e canali ghiacciati. Un ambiente severo dove ci sei solo tu, la cordata e l'isolamento della Cordillera Huayhuash.
Nessuno di loro aveva mai gestito una spedizione del genere.
Hanno dovuto adattarsi, fare i conti con il meteo imprevedibile e bivaccare appesi su una cengia minuscola a metà parete.
Poi, la decisione finale di fermarsi alla fine del pilastro per via delle condizioni pericolose della cresta.
Chapeau a questi ragazzi! Una salita pulita, come piace a noi, che ci dimostra come l’alpinismo esplorativo sia in ottima salute alimentato dai sogni delle nuove generazioni.
