Mother’s Day is a moment to pause and recognise the many forms that care can take. For some, it’s a mother. For others, a grandmother, a sister, a friend or someone who has shown up with that same steady, guiding presence.
At Hamaji, this extends beyond our immediate circles. We work closely with women makers across Kenya and the Himalayas - many of them mothers - whose hands shape each piece. Through your support, their craft becomes a consistent source of income, helping sustain their families and communities.
In a quiet way, we are all supporting a mother somewhere.
To our mother, who has been at the heart of everything we do growing up in Kenya. For encouraging both myself and my sister to follow our creative paths, to trust what we feel and to move through the world with openness and curiosity for the natural world around us.
You have always been our role model, our grounding pillar and our greatest source of love and inspiration. This is, in so many ways is a reflection of you.
