In 2019, we were having yet another typography discussion and jokingly said, “Imagine Ultras scarves… but with fonts.”
In the days that followed, that idea stuck with us, and we got the urge to actually make it happen.
Five years later, we’re finally able to share on Behance the project that tells the story of this adventure. It pushed us to tackle production processes and realities far removed from the refined and elegant world of “design,” demanding a huge amount of time and effort but rewarding us with tremendous support, introducing us to amazing people, and getting us involved in events like For Friends Not For Brands and Type Thursday.
We managed to create scarves for almost all our favorite fonts, from the playful ones like Comic Sans, Papyrus, and Times New Roman, to the “serious” ones like Futura, Bodoni, and Avant Garde. It was incredibly stimulating to figure out how to capture the essence of each typeface with the very limited requirements of this kind of production.
The ultimate goal of the project was simply to bring a quirky idea we had to life and share it with the world.
