Nato a Messina ma catanese di adozione, cresciuto e formatosi tra i
banchi dell’Istituto Italiano della Moda patrocinato da Lancetti, dell’Istituto Europeo di Design e della Scuola per modellisti Ida Ferri, le sue creazioni prendono prevalentemente spunto dalle forme, dai profumi e dai colori della sua amata Sicilia. Come non riconoscere il suo stile, esasperazione e voluttà, neo-barocco ed esaltante minimalismo, contraddizioni e tradizioni. Giovanni Cannistrà stilista amato dalle principesse arabe, regala alle donne modelli unici di femminilità, che non stupiscono per eccentricità ma che conquistano per eleganza e raffinatezza. Born in Messina but adopted by Catania, he grew up and trained in the banks of the Italian Institute of Fashion sponsored by Lancetti, the European Institute of Design and the Ida Ferri Modeling School, his creations are mainly inspired by shapes, perfumes and from the colors of his beloved Sicily. How not to recognize his style, exasperation and voluptuousness, neo-baroque and exalting minimalism, contradictions and traditions. Giovanni Cannistrà, a stylist loved by Arab princesses, offers women unique models of femininity, which are not surprising for eccentricity but which they conquer for their elegance and refinement. On the catwalk lightness made of a thousand layers of chiffon, winking feathers, delicate pleats and precious embroideries dress luxury dolls, ironic and polite, divine creatures scented with almonds and orange blossoms.
