I was not yet born back then in 1962 when grandma Alba begun to produce socks for children. They were handmade! They were hard to make but they wrapped thoroughly the little foot and the children's calf because these sock
s had special slipped stitches on the tips, on the heels and on the cuff as well. Male socks had humble processing while female ones were pervaded by an indulging fantasy with cute embroidery and laces. There was a real boom in sales mainly focused on big clients. Once the success had been seen, someone conceived and invented circular machines for knitting factories. These could produce similar socks of a lower level fit but low cost by far. The commissioning firms invested huge capitals on this new technology thus reducing drastically granny Alba's orders who found herself on the verge of a shut-down or else of a new profession startup. Thanks to her three sons' help: BARBARA, LETIZIA and PIER ANTONIO, the latter choice was chosen and outer knitwear production ignited with the trademark CREAZIONI CHIC. It is right then, in 1982, that I, Cippy, was born from Pier Antonio's imagination. A new adventure begun, after the initial difficulties had been overcome and those that followed up were solved by means of a growing experience and enthusiasm for enlarging horizons. The first collection was introduced on the background frame of the Venetian Villa Condulmer ( built in 1743) in Mogliano Veneto. I used to jump from label to label of each sweater, smiling at children coming in the shop with their mums. After consolidating my presence in Italian outlets, I happened to overfly the Atlantic ocean to bring my smile to American kids too! In fact, participating at international fairs has opened me new horizons always larger that brought me around the world. Though, with the subsequent globalization also problems have become bigger in global dimensions! And so have done opportunities that have been taken by those who want all of this: multinationals! As a consequence I've become aware of how small, but also agile I am ! Therefore, I've looked carefully in the wood for some chances to show up, those of niche markets that globalization fury has partially spared. So here I am jumping among hand embroidered gentians and edelweiss on jumpers of the line TIROLER CHIC. Or doing some slalom through the buttons of a white cardigan to dive onto soft cashmere of the line CLASS.CHIC. Or even playing hide and seek between the inescutcheon of prestigious institutes that can be customized thanks to the line CHIC SCHOOL UNIFORMS. To make children happy I am present in gadgets as well, such as: -Ivory colored cases where you will find me wearing a golden dress; -Rulers to accompany you during school lessons; -Balloons that seems to a little one like me real hot-air balloons!
