Dan’s practice explores the relationship between humans and the natural world. For his interpretation of the RIISE Optimist T-Shirt, flowers were dipped directly into paint and pressed onto the surface of the garment, creating layered floral impressions through gesture and repetition.⁠
⁠
The result feels instinctive, rhythmic and alive — optimism expressed not as something fixed, but as something chosen again and again through process, nature and return.⁠

Introducing Optimism: Reimagined — a series exploring optimism through the eyes of three Australia-based artists. For the project, we placed the RIISE Optimist T-Shirt into the hands of each artist and invited them to respond to a single prompt: what does optimism mean to you? What emerges is not a singular vision, but an exploration of optimism not as perfection or certainty, but as expression, individuality and the courage to imagine differently.⁠
