Review Movie: Van Helsing 2 (2025) 🦇⚔️
After more than 20 years since the original Van Helsing (2004) starring Hugh Jackman, Van Helsing 2 (2025) brings the iconic monster hunter back into the fold, this time for an all-new adventure. Directed by Alexandre Aja (known for his work on The Hills Have Eyes and Crawl), the sequel promises to be darker, more thrilling, and more action-packed, while diving deeper into the legacy of the infamous vampire hunter.
🦇 PLOT:
Van Helsing 2 picks up a decade after the events of the first film, following the heroic yet haunted Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman) as he continues his fight against the supernatural forces of evil. After the downfall of Count Dracula, Van Helsing has seemingly vanished from the public eye, living in self-imposed exile. However, the peace is short-lived when a new threat arises: an ancient vampire cult, led by the resurrected Dracula’s progeny (played by Oscar Isaac), who seeks to unleash an army of monsters from a long-lost underworld.
Van Helsing is forced to step back into action when a powerful artifact—known as the Eternal Nightstone—is discovered, and it has the power to bring the most powerful beings from mythology back to life. Alongside new allies, including a mysterious warrior woman, Isabella (played by Emma Stone), and Jekyll-Hyde (a new character with dual identities), Van Helsing must confront this new wave of terror that threatens not only humanity but the very fabric of reality itself.
As he travels across Europe to prevent the cult from awakening ancient monsters, Van Helsing faces personal demons and confronts the ghosts of his past, including his unresolved history with Dracula’s curse. Themes of redemption and vengeance come to the forefront, making this an emotionally driven sequel as much as an action-packed horror epic.
