There's a beautiful statement that says:"Light creates ambiance, light makes the feel of a space, and light is also the expression of structure." Well that was not by me. That was, of course, by Le Corbusier, the famous architect. And you can see what he meant in one of his beautiful buildings - the chapel Notre Dame du Haut, Ronchamp - where he creates this light that he could only make because there's also dark. I think that there is no good lighting that is healthy and for our well-being without proper darkness.

Approach Rules

"The Project has a language to build and tell a story - the language as the connecting entity, between the drawing and the message. The light has a means (message or meaning), to bring the story to life." at nighttime the artificial lights replaces the sunlight - it must be a service for citizens: they can move with visual comfort and safety along routes and they can recognize sites and destinations - it must show architectural forms, volumes, materials, must signal interior building presence and be in harmony with urban context - the lighting can play with light and shade, create chromatic and dynamic effects - it must respect the environment and its own protecting rules with a special attention to energy sources and security."
