FVDS debuts at the 2025 Hebei International Industrial Design Week!

Three days of pure inspiration: a celebration of creativity, technology, and culture, sharing ideas and visions with designers from all around the world. For us, design goes beyond form: it’s energy, innovation, and transformation: a driving force that shapes industries and enhances everyday life.

A heartfelt thank you to the organizers for the invitation and support, and to all the creative partners who made this event so inspiring. Thanks also to Guizhou Industrial Design City, Tontine Technology Industrial Development Co., Ltd., and Master Lu Huaying, an intangible cultural heritage artist specialized in bamboo weaving.

At the beginning of June, we had the pleasure of taking part in the design workshop titled "Shaping Smart Eyewear: From Storytelling to Brand Language".

It was a great pleasure and a valuable opportunity for reflection and discussion to engage with the students working on such a challenging project.

Thanks to Essilor Luxottica and Politecnico di Milano for making this extraordinary adventure possible. A special thanks also to the Politecnico staff, the professors, and the teaching assistants: .battiston, , Lorenza Fais, , , Lise Tyler, , , Davide Spallazzo.

All'inizio di giugno abbiamo avuto il piacere di partecipare al laboratorio progettuale dal titolo "Disegnare un prodotto di Smart eyewear: brand language e storytelling".

È stato un grande piacere, oltre che una preziosa occasione di riflessione e dibattito, poterci confrontare con gli studenti mentre lavoravano a questo progetto stimolante.

Designing La Seine & Sonnet was a journey of refinement. It began with sketches, not just to define a shape, but to explore the presence this machine should have in a home where coffee is a moment of pleasure and pause. We worked on scale, proportions, and how each element relates, ensuring that every gesture feels natural, like preparing your perfect coffee each morning.

We then built mock-ups and studied components in detail, testing ergonomics and dimensions to create an intuitive, comfortable experience, one that respects the habits of coffee lovers.

The most rewarding moment? Seeing it all come together in a product that not only makes quality coffee, but brings meaning to a daily ritual through subtlety and attention to detail.

La progettazione di La Seine & Sonnet è stata un percorso di perfezionamento. È iniziata con degli schizzi, non solo per definire una forma, ma per capire quale presenza questa macchina dovesse avere in un ambiente domestico, dove il caffè è un momento di piacere e di pausa.
Abbiamo lavorato su scala, proporzioni e relazioni tra gli elementi funzionali per fare in modo che ogni gesto risultasse naturale, come preparare il proprio caffè perfetto ogni mattina.

Da lì siamo passati ai mock-up e allo studio dettagliato dei componenti, testando ergonomia e dimensioni per creare un’esperienza d’uso intuitiva e confortevole, rispettosa delle abitudini di chi ama il caffè.

Il momento più gratificante? Vedere tutte queste idee prendere forma in un prodotto che non solo prepara un caffè di qualità, ma dà valore a un rituale quotidiano, con sobrietà e attenzione ai dettagli.

A heartfelt thanks to for your trust and choice. We are truly honored to take part in the design of La Seine & Sonnet — a coffee machine that beautifully blends Italian and French heritage.

La Seine & Sonnet is an espresso machine designed to blend functionality with a distinct visual character.

We drew inspiration from mid-20th century French automobiles, particularly the Simca Aronde. We were interested in the quiet elegance of these vehicles: their flowing lines, confident stance, and refined proportions. Our aim was to translate that design language into a compact, everyday object for the home.

The machine features a two-tone palette in heritage blue and cream, chosen to bring warmth and visual softness to the product. Subtle elements, like the chromed side dial, introduce just enough detail to create depth without overwhelming the form.

Un sentito grazie a per la fiducia e la scelta. Siamo davvero onorati di aver preso parte al design di La Seine & Sonnet, una macchina da caffè che unisce con armonia il patrimonio italiano e francese.

La Seine & Sonnet è una macchina da caffè pensata per unire funzionalità e un'identità visiva riconoscibile.

L’ispirazione è nata dalle automobili francesi della metà del XX secolo, in particolare dalla Simca Aronde. Ci ha affascinatol’eleganza silenziosa di quei veicoli: le linee fluide, l’assetto sicuro, le proporzioni raffinate. L’obiettivo era tradurre quel linguaggio formale in un oggetto compatto per l’ambiente domestico.

La macchina presenta una palette bicolore in blu heritage e crema, scelta per conferire calore e morbidezza visiva. Dettagli discreti, come la manopola laterale cromata, aggiungono complessità con misura, senza appesantire la forma.
