Ready to Watch a Comedy Turn Into a Drama? 🎬🍿
Grab a seat, get your popcorn ready, pour some tea, and watch my personal real-life movie! The plot is based on actual events from the life of a pattern designer.
A girl bought one of my bag patterns at once. Some time goes by, and I get a message: "I don't understand anything, send me a full video of the entire process!" 😮
I froze for a moment. It would be one thing if the file just contained dry text. But for this motif, I include a highly detailed chart and step-by-step photos of the beginning and end of every single round! It is practically a frame-by-frame cartoon where everything is broken down to the smallest detail. But reading and looking at photos is apparently too boring. "Give me a video!" Although, let me let you in on a secret: in video tutorials, you actually have to sit, watch carefully, and figure things out too 🤷♀️
Anyway, I turned on my caring designer mode and asked: "Send me a photo of your process, I’ll help you."
I received the picture, zoomed in, and saw... the person was crocheting using some alternative method of their own, completely ignoring the chart and rounds.
I happily wrote back: "Hooray, we found the clue! Look, here is the mistake, just fix this spot and everything will go smoothly from here!" The response killed me: "Oh, whatever, I don't want to crochet anything anymore at all" 💁♀️
And that is how a highly detailed guide with charts was almost turned into a series, but ended up as a total drama.
Come on, girls, confess—have you ever had that "oh, whatever, I'm going on strike" feeling when a stitch went wrong? Or are you the type to sit and dissect every chart until the victorious end?
