ABANTU is a South African based contemporary fashion and textile design brand started by conceptual textile designer Thandazani Nofingxana. After winning a student mohair competition, He was named 1/10 hottest surface designers in South Africa by Nandos and has Presented his work at design indaba emerging creatives. The brand ABANTU seeks to tell stories of self and the surroundings, conceptuali

zing ideas and aesthetics to showcase Africa and its people hence the name "ABANTU" (the people). ABANTU showcases the people and the culture of most South African tribes, The designs are inspired by both the present and the past by referencing and modernizing cultural signifiers that can be translated into contemporary fashion and textile pieces for the future and the now. ABANTU mainly uses knitted garments in Cashmere, Kid mohair and merino wool made in in South Africa. We have recently introduce other fabrics and material such Cotton blends, Recycled fabric.
