In an attempt at salvaging any sort of pride, I guess it just seemed relevant to take a moment to reflect on recent events in the fashion world scope, where I couldn’t help but notice this particular similar design by in this season’s show, to my very own celestial ball & chain bags that I’ve been making for years. It may seem petty and of course no one could know for sure, and we are all surrounded by the same beauty, music, art, and are inspired by each other, I recognize... However, this time felt a little rough, I must admit, since I made my first ball & chain design in 2009 as part of my Senior Thesis Collection at Mass Art, and have since been commissioned to make so many over the years, selling in the Guggenheim Museum Store, to legendary Boston fashionista Marilyn Riseman RIP,
(whom was my first costumer and cheerleader,) as well as to many more beloved customers and friends along the way. So I guess, it just feels like petty small pickings when an indie designer does something in a small way, and a major fashion house does it in a big way. Anyway, no pointing fingers, just food for thought. ✨

As the fashion shows unfold around the world, I’m reminded to take a moment of appreciation for my recent trip to Milan to see the SS26 collection of Bottega Veneta and debut feature by the undeniable force . In a changing and unclear world when beauty sometimes feels frivolous, I’m reminded just how important fashion and art is, and how many people are touched by its creation. While everyone becomes a critic, and in an unsolicited review, I have to say it was my absolute favorite of what I’ve seen out there lately in luxury, redefined classics, definition of craftsmanship and a promenade to what fashion means. No gimmicks, tactics or shocks, just pure insight to beauty and excellence in color refinement and placement. Exhilarating textures and compositions that inspire. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to take part in what felt like a historic moment. The first woman creative director for the brand, and the only one currently under the corporate conglomerate. Bravo LT and to many more collections to come. Thank you to the all inspiring and talented whom was handpicked to parlay the musical tone of this season’s after party. The city was ablaze with inspiration and I was especially excited to be around such rich history of craft, devotion to quality and design excellence. We even got to soak it all in with a quick adventure to Lake Como. Now, with inspiration abundant, I take to my sketchbook to see what trouble I can get into next. Wild as the wind.
