Federico Badia has been working with leather for over ten years. First in a small pelletteria, a leather shop, making belts, bracelets, and eventually various bags. During this time he first discovered his interest in leather, which has grown over the years. Eventually, he discovered that his true passion lay in the art of traditional shoemaking, which has begun to die out even in Italy. He appren

ticed for a year and a half in Rome, learning about leather tanning and quality, sewing techniques, pattern design, and construction. After working from his home for a year, in June 2011, he opened a shop in Orvieto, Italy. Federico in his own words:
“I am always working to improve my techniques and the product I make—searching for the best leather and the best designs for bags and shoes. My goal is to make a product with traditional quality that really can last for a lifetime. I love the material I work with: leather, which is so versatile and beautiful.”
