As a designer Marina worked for Gianni Versace women RTW. Mélique Street is currently creating couture collections + designing and consulting brands, showrooms and private clients.

This time we received a request to ‘help’ and send a dress for an Italian superstar (we’ll keep the names to ourselves). We urgently delivered the dress on a hanger to their office in the same city where we work, but the event never happened and they returned the dress to us in a couple of months, saying that they really like our brand and they will write to us for other collaborations. Why is there so much disrespect for the work of the designer and his team? This dress has a lot of handwork, a lot of time spent on it and It’s made of high-quality fabrics 💔

This is not the first case in our practice, and we urge stylists and their teams to treat the work of designers with more care. Especially when we don’t get any creative output or money from it.

Thanks God it doesn’t happen all the time but the lack of respect for garments from some stylists is incredible.
