A few weeks have passed since the opening of “patron/ise”, the final exhibition of the first cycle of artist residencies of Textile Art Factory.
Here’s a closer look at some of the installations developed over six months of research and production in Prato.
Curated by Ester Maria d’Avossa , “patron/ise” reflects on the often invisible conditions that make artistic production possible—labour, negotiation, care, and collaboration.
Drawing a parallel between artistic and textile production, the exhibition brings together the work of Lorena Bucur, Carmen Buonanno, Linda Ann Cipriani, and Nikola Filipović, revealing the processes that sustain creative practice long before they become visible in the finished work.
Through distinct artistic practices, the four artists explore these questions from different perspectives, engaging with personal memory, migration, protest, care, and the hidden infrastructures of textile production. Each work carries the traces of the materials, relationships, and forms of labour that made it possible.
“patron/ise” is on view at Lottozero Kunsthalle until 11 October 2026.
