A gamurra in the apothecary’s shop🌿
✨️ is wearing a gamurra in the style of late 15th-century Florence, made of green wool with red sleeves.
📜The design of the gamurra is based on one of Domenico Ghirlandaio’s paintings in the Chapel of Santa Fina in San Gimignano.
🪡It is fastened with a red lace, and the plain sleeves are fastened with fabric buttons.

Doublet late 14th–early 15th century

📜 Sources for this period are often contradictory, but what they have in common is a gradual transition from the slender silhouette of the 14th century to the hourglass shape typical of the 15th.
✨️ Italy absorbed French and Iberian influences and reworked them, giving rise, between the 1410s and 1420s, to the Italian doublet, which became a style icon.

🪡 This doublet is made of thick linen canvas, lined in white linen, with stitching on the lower body and forearms.
The front and sleeve fastenings are secured with buttons measuring approximately 1 cm.

🇮🇹 A typical Italian pleated giornea 🤌
The giornea is made of anthracite-black wool with brick-red wool trims and lined with ivory linen.
🪡The construction of the giornea follows the measurements of historical looms: this requires cutting and piecing to achieve the desired shape.
✨️Although this aspect is not readily visible, it is essential for correctly replicating the shapes.
The additions were never random, but responded to specific requirements.

Burgundian-Flemish livery jacket 🛡 third quarter of the 15th century.
✨️Livery jackets are service garments worn by servants, squire and waiters, but they are also used in the military due to their high visibility.
They could be heraldic, with painted metal escutcheons pinned on top or small applied heraldry.
🪡This livery jacket is made from the red wool of the — the same that you often see worn by their members — with red silk edging to protect the areas of greatest friction.
I made eyelets and hooks for the fastening.

Thanks to for believing in me once again💙

📜 Cottardite from De bello civili (Trivulziana Library, Ms. 691).

This cottardite was created using the miniature from De bello civili (Biblioteca Trivulziana, Ms. 691) as a reference, comparing it with other contemporary sources as it is very small and lacks some details.
🪡The result is a pink silk cottardite with gold-yellow silk trims, embroidery and metal buttons.
🧵The trims, made as requested by the customer, are hand-embroidered using knot stitch and stem stitch.
✨️For the front fastening and sleeves, the choice fell on 0.8 cm metal buttons made by .

🩵 Thanks to Federico for entrusting me with this project, of which I have other pieces to show you!

Forget cloaks, this is a giornea adale ✨
Wide, draped, spectacular:
in 15th-century Italy 🇮🇹 , it was one of the most recognisable and sought-after garments.
The giornea adale, or mantechello, dominates 15th-century paintings and is a clear sign of status and presence.
🪡 Worn by courtiers, knights and lords, richly crafted in silk, velvet and brocade, the giornea adale it also appears on wealthy bourgeoisie, made of the finest woollen cloth.

Women's apron from beyond the Alps 🚞

🧵 This apron, inspired by late 15th-century German and Northern European iconography, has been a real obsession of mine for years.
Its shape, completely different from that documented in Italian sources, has long intrigued me.
✨️The result is an extremely comfortable, lightweight and unobtrusive garment, despite the abundance of fabric.
An apron designed for everyday use, functional and practical.

Made of linen,
entirely hand-sewn 🪡

✨️The essence of men's fashion in 15th-century Italy.
Simple, clean lines that hug the body: these are the foundations of a good men's outfit in mid-15th-century Italy.

🪡This outfit consists of very tight-fitting burgundy hose and a simple light blue doublet.
The doublet has 0.8 cm buttons on the sleeves and front, where a lace completes the mixed closure.

Thanks to Federico ( ) for trusting in my work ✨
