Since 1978 Il Marchesato is a family Company founded in 1978 in Saluzzo, a tiny town in the North East of Italy, not far from Turin.

The name is after the old name of the area, and it means “The land of the Marquis”, a common way in the ancient times to define places according to the nobles in charge. From the beginning Il Marchesato makes hand made luxury umbreallas, walking sticks and shoehorns with a vast array of high quality materials. Every single piece is mounted by hand, precious textiles cut by hand, sticks and handles

are worked by the family members and porcelain handles painted by local artists working with the Company since longtime. Even the top notches and runners of the umbrellas are mounted and tested internally one by one. The signature gold plating is designed by Il Marchesato and realized by specialized artisans sharing the same care for quality productions. Il Marchesato has been working with Swarowsky since a long time, and crystals are often used to enrich handles and sticks. The same happens for the textiles, always changing according to fashion, creativity and also Customers wishes. This is why Il Marchesato has had several cooperations with big names in the Italian Fashion industry, luxury cars makers, and other famous brands looking for personalised items as accessories for their main lines or gifts for their VIP customers

Il Marchesato has exported to many countries around the world, China, Japan and US included, adapting to local taste when necessary.
